     Lawrence is a great example that age is no barrier in bodybuilding. At 73 and with 11 grandchildren, he is not only manage to keep himself fit but is still actively competing in local bodybuilding contests! A former Mr.Kuala Lumpur champion in the MASTER category, Lawrence started the game pretty late at the age of 55 and have not looked back since. He believes bodybuilding has shaped his character and have been keeping him busy. He is Malaysia’s Superman as I call him as he is one of a kind and is well respected in the bodybuilding community. Way to go, uncle Lawrence!!

Reasons You Took Up Bodybuilding:
The main reason I took up bodybuilding is being influenced by one of my bodybuilder best friends, Sunny Phua who achieved 3rd place in the Short Class Mr.Universe in 1963. When I was at the age of 55, I made an attempt to embark myself in bodybuilding. I found that it has given me in the confidence in every aspects especially my physical appearance and self esteem.
What Keeps You Going At This Age, Lawrence?
I am a competitive bodybuilder. I also promote bodybuilding because I love the sport so much. Bodybuilding has definitely helped my physique in many ways, in addition to my whole outlook on life.
Proudest Moment in Your Life:
The proudest moment in my life was when I won the Mr.Kuala Lumpur Championships MASTER category (45 years and above) in 2001 at the age of 68 the oldest contestant among the odds. And also I took part in the Mr. Malaysia Championships in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah the same year (MASTER category (45 years and above). I got 5th place in the final.

Your Current Diet Plan:
8.30am- 6 egg white, 1 bowl oats, 1 cup coffee
11.30am- 1 apple, 1 orange
1.00pm- 5 egg white, chicken breast/ tuna
3.30pm- whey protein drink
6.30pm- 5 egg white, chicken breast/ tuna, 1 bowl salads
8.30pm- 1 bowl oats with peanut butter and raisins
10.00pm- whey protein drink
Any Advise You Have For Bodybuilders/ Fitness Buffs in General?
If you are a beginner, start with a light , light weight and really concentrate on the form. Instead of worrying about how much weight you are lifting, focus on the feeling of the contraction in the targeted muscles. Bodybuilding is one sport will develop character.
What Is Your Philosophy In Life?
My philosophy is to enjoy life. Do not expect to be perfect, just be your best. Life should be full of laughter. If you are not happy about any are of your life- emotional or physical then stop doing the same thing and make a life choice to change it.
